What's New Friday? TGIF!
Pat:
Hope all is OK. Chest pains can be serious, so I'm glad you took it seriously. Some doctors pooh-pooh woman's chest pains. You're in my prayers and thoughts for a good outcome. Make sure they work you up good to find out what's wrong.
Could it be an anxiety attack? My mom has those (right before she goes on a trip, usually ... she does not like to travel ... I know that's not your problem, though). But is something else going on in your life that might have triggered it?

Good morning everyone. Its been ages since I posted here, it used to be an everydaything for me. Im trying to get back into the habit, as I need all the support I can get!
Eileen, hope you get to feeling better soon! I had that cold and sinus thing a few weeks ago, miserable.
George, I can relate to your good marraige. Mike and I have been married for 21 years, and had two arguments. Like you, I dont even remember em. But I was married for 19 years before Mike, to a very mentally abusive man, alcoholic. He died at the age of 41. Then Mike came along, and I think God just made up for everything the kids and I went through. Mike was 25 and I was 40 when we married, and its been a little bit of heaven on earth.
Wednesday afternoon we took a little trip to Evansville to see my sister. She and I had lost contact 24 years ago, and I found her on the internet last November. Well, we have been calling and writing, and she told me that her car broke down. It was going to cost her 595.00 to get it repaired. Since she is on SS, that is a great big chunk fo her to have to save up, so Mike, being the mechanic in the family, offered to go fix it for her. We got there, he put on a water pump, a new timing assembly, and all new belts for 124.00 in parts. Took him 7 hours. She was ecstatic, so much that she cried. She is 71 years old and gets around great, but had been stranded for about three months. Now she has wheels! She was so grateful. This was the first time she had met Mike, and believe me, he made a great impression! LOL She has applied for susidized housing here in Danville so we can be close, and should have an apartment by June or July. We are so excited!
Today I am back on track, one day, one hour at a time.
No big plans for Easter other than Church in the morning and evening. I always look forward to the Easter services though and all the visitors that come out.
Guess Ill go take my vitamins and then come back and read some posts. Trying to get active on the board again.
Be blessed ya'll

Today I'm waiting for hubby to get home from work at noon and then we're going shopping for cabinets. We have a rental house about a mile and a half from where we live and it hasn't been updated since before 1975 when we bought it. We'd like to put it on the market, but it definately needs updates. I've already designed how I want the kitchen to look so now it's just a matter of finding the right cheap cabinets and doing the work.
George, I know what you mean about a good marriage. I've been married 34 years now, and while I can't say we never argued, I can say that if we did, we resolved it and moved on. I think as we age we ask ourselves, is it worth the effort of an argument? At least that's how I feel. I tell my kids and their wives to ask themselves that question. Is it really worth the battle? Choose your battle and let the rest go. They bicker a lot but it doesn't really mean anything.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable Good Friday and a Blessed Easter.

Good morning to you, Eileen and my other OFF sibs. Today is Friday and all is well here.....at least it is now.
I called the bank this morning and low and behold the lady in the machine told me that they only deposited half of Bill's check. He called his big boss and told him and then he told him that he couldn't wait 2 weeks to get the rest of the check since we have bills to pay. The boss called back and told him that a paper check will be at work for him this afternoon. So at least that is taken care of. I told Bill if his boss at the coke plant can't do her job better than this they should get rid of her. All of the problems that we have had is because she isn't doing her job right. Now if that was Bill doing his job like that he would be long gone! You and I both know that.
Bill is snoozing in his recliner now. He got up early and just needs to nap. He works so hard........it is very physical work and he isn't as young as he use to be either just like the rest of us. I guess it is just another "You gotta do what you gotta do" situation. We are all faced with things like that now a days and no matter what you do there is always something to take the place of what you have taken care of. Just like a girlfriend of mine use to say I guess........first your panties and then your hose. It is always something and when that stops we will be dead and then nothing matters.
I got some bad news yesterday. My cousin in North Carolina just found out she has leukemia. She is almost 80 and I have never met her. We have talked on the phone and her daughter and I talk on a regular basis. We just found each other since neither of us knew of the other until the genealogy search brought us together. I love the finding family that you never knew was there. But then when things like the leukemia happens it breaks your heart. I was talking to her daughter yesterday and I really want to go see her next month. I am not sure what Bill will say about that though. I still have the surgery to think about too. It would have to be a week end trip and nothing more since Bill doesn't have vacation time until after May. I haven't talked to Bill about any of this right now. I sure would appreciate any prayers that you can offer for Delores and her family. Maybe this is the reason that we were brought together........makes you wonder.
I guess I should get going. Been going on long enough. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are being said for everyone. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the spring that might be here..........and SMILE pretty. It helps make your day wonderful and it helps others too.
